Balanced, decisive, and versatile – introducing the “Regulus”

The Regulus is a refined one-handed sword inspired by the transitional weapons of the late 13th and early 14th centuries. Its blade follows the Oakeshott Type XVI form, with a strong central ridge, reinforced tip section, and a profile designed to balance cutting power with effective thrusting. A single fuller runs along the base of the blade, reducing weight while preserving stiffness and control.

Broad at the base and tapering steadily toward a stiff, acute point, the Type XVI blade delivers confident cuts and excellent point control against evolving armour, making it highly adaptable across a wide range of techniques.

Clean in design and purposeful in execution, the Regulus combines elegant proportions with lively handling. Stable, responsive, and precise, it is an excellent choice for practitioners and collectors seeking a versatile arming sword that bridges cutting authority and thrusting efficiency.
